"A small, auditioned choir from the Comox Valley, the Quarantones Male Chorus is known for the variety of its programming, and the rich resonance of its low voices singing together in beautiful harmony. Choir members have variously been performers, academics, choral conductors and teachers, with extensive experience in choirs, ensembles, musical theatre, opera choruses, and as soloists."

The Quarantones sing both a cappella and accompanied choral works, male choral music from a variety of genres and styles. 

Mission Statement

The Quarantones Male Chorus will sing music that touches the heart and lingers in memory.

In pursuit of this mission we will focus on and be recognized for the quality of the music we sing, our resonant and dynamic sound, and our engagement with the broader choral community.

The Quarantones Male Chorus will

  1. Seek out and perform music that is diverse, warming and infectious,

  2. Select music that includes a range of complexity that provides a “stretch” to our members

  3. Bring that music to the public through our annual concert series. and

  4. Engage in and support the choral community in our area.

Members of the Quarantones Male Chorus commit themselves to

  1. Work on their music between rehearsals,

  2. Strive for continuing personal musical growth,

  3. Rehearse in a spirit of support and respect for each other and our Director

  4. Sing with joy in a spirit of camaraderie and good humour, and

  5. Wholeheartedly participate in the activities and performances of the choir
